3840×800 was an audiovisual installation built around Blind Observatory’s track And The Flying Saucer and an unusually wide panoramic screen.
Project
The display measured 3840×800 pixels and extended around the viewer’s field of vision. That format changed the basic composition of the work: images had to move across a long horizontal surface instead of a conventional film frame, while the forceful sound gave the installation its physical intensity.
My work covered video design and editing. The piece uses high-contrast monochrome imagery and movement built for the scale and proportions of the installation.
What was created
An audiovisual installation for a panoramic 3840×800 screen. The work combined Blind Observatory’s forceful sound with stark, large-scale black-and-white imagery moving across the viewer’s field of vision. It was designed as a spatial experience, not simply as a conventional music video.
Looking back
For me, 3840×800 was built to be felt as much as watched. The extremely wide screen pulled the images out of a normal film frame, while Blind Observatory’s forceful sound gave the piece its physical weight. Image, sound, and space were not separate layers. Together, they were the work.
